Presentation of Plaques and Badges to Foster Pride Among Volunteers
On the 14th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held the ‘Volunteer King Award Ceremony and Excellent Volunteer Badge Presentation’ at the Saemaeul Hall, hosted by the Gumi City Comprehensive Volunteer Center.
Gumi City and the Comprehensive Volunteer Center held the "Volunteer King Award Ceremony and Outstanding Volunteer Badge Presentation."
At the ceremony, three Volunteer Kings and eighteen excellent volunteers were selected. The Volunteer King award was given to the top registered volunteers based on their volunteer activity performance during the first half of the year, along with a plaque of appreciation. The excellent volunteer badges were awarded by color (ranging from 300 hours to over 7,000 hours) to the top registered volunteers by volunteer hours, accompanied by a certificate.
The awardees have continued their volunteer activities in various areas of the community, including patrolling crime-vulnerable areas, supporting local events, environmental cleanup activities, assisting social welfare facilities, lifelong education guidance, performances for the elderly, and meal service volunteering.
Ha Jun-ho, Director of the Volunteer Center, expressed gratitude to the 21 awardees who were actively involved during the first half of the year, saying, “I hope this occasion will serve to boost the pride of volunteers and share excellent cases, thereby widely promoting the helping hands in the local community.”
Kang Shin-seok, Director of the Administration and Safety Bureau, said, “I sincerely thank the volunteers who are spreading the values of dedication and love,” and added, “I hope that with the continued activities of volunteers, Gumi will become a city full of warmth and happiness.”
