Software Developer Talent Nurturing and Developer Skill Enhancement Project Course
On the afternoon of the 22nd, Busan City held the graduation ceremony for the 2nd class of the "Sparos Academy" at the "Shinsegae I&C Busan Campus" (located in Centum, Haeundae-gu).
"Sparos Academy" is a practical, project-based training program designed to equip young people preparing for employment in the software field with the skills to be immediately deployed in companies. Shinsegae I&C provides program development and educational services, while Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency support education promotion and corporate employment.
The program focuses on enhancing capabilities as developers who understand the industry, not only in software technology but also in collaboration and communication skills.
"Sparos Academy" runs an 18-week course with 30 trainees. Among the 26 graduates of the first class last year, 12 secured employment. Unemployed graduates receive employment support from Shinsegae I&C and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency for one year after graduation.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Innovation Office of Busan City; Gu Seong-gi, Executive Director of Shinsegae I&C; Jin Yang-hyun, President of the Busan Economic Promotion Agency; and representatives of Busan companies, who cheered on the graduates' futures.
The trainees formed a total of four teams and presented the apps they developed at the research project presentation on the 15th. All the research projects presented that day were highly recognized by the attending companies for their considerable level of competence.
Among them, trainee Joo Young-min, who received the grand prize, said, "The very opportunity to receive quality information technology (IT) education in Busan was a great chance. There were many times I wanted to give up because it was so tough, but after staying up all night and working hard, we were able to produce results that received high praise, overwhelming compared to any other training institution (bootcamp) nationwide."
"Sparos Academy," which recruits trainees twice a year, is currently accepting applications for the 3rd class until July 1st on the Sparos Academy website. For inquiries, contact the Shinsegae I&C Busan Campus.
Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Innovation Office, said, "We will do our best to create an environment where Busan youth, including these graduates, can demonstrate their abilities. We will continue to actively support providing more young people with employment opportunities in Busan and helping companies secure talent."
