MFDS Issues Sales Suspension and Recall Measures

Antibiotic-free milk with bacteria and coliform levels exceeding the standard and grilled dried filefish containing a large amount of metallic foreign substances were detected, prompting the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to order a sales suspension and recall.

On the 19th, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced that the ‘Dr.Omega Antibiotic-Free Omega-3 Milk’ product manufactured by Green Grass Bio Co., Ltd. (Chungbuk Chungju) exceeded the standard limits for both bacteria and coliform counts, and issued a recall order.

The affected product is labeled with a manufacturing date of June 12 (barcode number 8809605121569) and an expiration date of June 23, and is sold in two sizes: 180ml and 750ml.

The packaging is white, featuring promotional phrases such as ‘WHO Recommended Omega Golden Ratio’ and ‘Top Grade Raw Milk Grade A,’ along with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs mark certifying it as antibiotic-free.

On the same day, the MFDS also ordered a sales suspension and recall for the ‘Grilled Jwipo’ product manufactured and sold by Bada One Co., Ltd., after detecting metallic foreign substances exceeding the standard limits.

The recalled product is labeled with an expiration date of March 6, 2024 (barcode number 8809012611592), with a packaging size of 200g. The manufacturing date was not confirmed.

An MFDS official stated, “Sellers storing the recalled food products should stop sales and return them to the recalling business operators,” and added, “Consumers who have already purchased these products should stop consumption and contact the customer center indicated on the product or return the product to the place of purchase.”

Earlier, on the 8th, the MFDS decided to suspend sales after detecting preservatives exceeding the standard limits in pickled radish for albap distributed in the market.
