Any farm registered as an agricultural management entity, agricultural corporation, or farming corporation can apply.

The allocation of seasonal workers is possible up to a maximum of 9 people depending on the cultivated crop area.

Farms participating as employers must have accommodations with suitable living conditions for seasonal workers.

Also, when employing seasonal workers, employers must pay wages above the minimum hourly wage and guarantee rest time and holidays based on the Labor Standards Act.

Farms wishing to apply can do so at any time at the administrative welfare centers in the towns and townships where the farmland is located.

The recruited workers will enter the country between late July and early August and can work for up to 8 months.

Earlier, on May 4th and 5th, the county signed an agricultural MOU regarding seasonal workers with the Philippines over two days.

Accordingly, Filipino seasonal workers are expected to enter the country and support labor in rural areas.

A county official said, “We expect the seasonal worker program to help resolve labor shortages caused by rural aging and support stable farming activities during the busy farming season.”
