The Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Lee Jae-ha) held the '2023 Daegu 100 Billion Club Luncheon Meeting' on the 7th at Hotel Suseong in Suseong-gu, Daegu.
Since 2019, the Daegu Chamber of Commerce has been hosting this meeting to invite local companies with sales exceeding 100 billion KRW that lead Daegu's economy, aiming to boost the morale and pride of entrepreneurs and discuss current issues.
About 50 members of the Daegu 100 Billion Club are gathered for a luncheon meeting and are taking a commemorative photo.
The event was attended by about 50 local officials and business leaders, including Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu; Won Young-jun, Head of Daegu-Gyeongbuk Small and Medium Venture Business Administration; Noh Tae-geun, Director of Daegu Regional Fair Trade Office; Lee Chung-gon, Chairman of SL Co., Ltd.; Son Il-ho, Chairman of Kyungchang Industry Co., Ltd.; and Kim Sang-tae, Chairman of PHC Co., Ltd.

(CEO Kim Chi-young), DNP Corporation Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoon Joo-min), Samjung Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Hee-young), Seongrim Advanced Industry Co., Ltd. (CEO Gong Gun-seung), T'way Air Co., Ltd. (CEO Jung Hong-geun), Korea Alstrom Co., Ltd. (CEO Shim Jin-hwa), and Korea Vacuum Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee In-woo)?were awarded the Daegu 100 Billion Club plaques.
A representative from the Daegu Chamber of Commerce stated, "The Daegu 100 Billion Club is a gathering of companies with sales exceeding 100 billion KRW, and it meets once a year. Currently, 98 entrepreneurs have joined."
Do Yong-bok, Chairman of Saratoga Co., Ltd., gave a special lecture on the topic "Entrepreneurial Spirit Needed in This Era."
Hong Joon-pyo, Mayor of Daegu, said, "We are steadily preparing for the construction of the TK New Airport and the development of the surrounding areas for the great transformation of Daegu's next 50 years," adding, "We ask not only construction companies but also companies from other sectors to actively participate in the New Airport SPC (Special Purpose Corporation)."
Lee Jae-ha, Chairman of the Daegu Chamber of Commerce, expressed, "We deeply thank the entrepreneurs who have led the local economy with indomitable entrepreneurial spirit," and emphasized, "We will continue to do our best to improve regulations and difficulties that hinder corporate development and to foster an atmosphere where entrepreneurs are respected and a pro-business culture spreads."
