Samyang is participating in the exhibition for the first time this year, focusing on promoting prebiotics such as indigestible maltodextrin and fructooligosaccharide powder, which are used as health-functional ingredients. Both items are widely applied not only in health functional foods but also across various food categories including fermented milk, beverages, confectionery, and sauces.
Samyang also puts great effort into promoting allulose, its representative specialty material, and providing low-sugar solutions. Allulose is a sweet component found in figs and grapes that provides a sweetness similar to sugar but with virtually zero calories, making it an alternative sweetener.
Additionally, to enhance visitors' understanding, the booth will display actual samples of each material and introduce product groups applying each material categorized by type. Tasting samples will also be offered, including kombucha (a fermented beverage made by adding beneficial bacteria to green or black tea with sugar), protein bars, and plant-based protein drinks, all containing Samyang’s specialty materials.
Lee Sang-hoon, head of Samyang’s Food Business Unit (BU), stated, "We plan to continue strengthening applied research on prebiotic materials and devote efforts to discovering new product groups such as pet food."
