The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education is implementing the ‘2023 Active Administration Implementation Plan’ to proactively respond to the rapid changes in the administrative environment and to foster a culture of active work among public officials.
According to the Gwangju Office of Education on the 21st, the 2023 Active Administration Implementation Plan was established with the goal of ‘realizing innovative inclusive education through substantial changes in the public service society.’
To this end, 16 detailed active administration tasks will be promoted focusing on four areas: ▲activation of the active administration promotion system ▲strengthening preferential treatment for active administration public officials ▲protection and support for active administration public officials ▲prevention and eradication of passive administration.
In particular, this year, the number of selected excellent cases of active administration and outstanding public officials will be expanded, and personnel incentives will be provided to outstanding public officials. The plan is to spread a public service culture where all employees actively carry out their duties, thereby promoting substantial changes in the public service society.
Additionally, the active administration workplace training, which was conducted at the headquarters, has been expanded to be mandatory at the East and West Education Support Offices and affiliated institutions.
Along with this, brochures and materials for promoting active administration will be produced and distributed to further strengthen education and publicity related to active administration.
Superintendent Lee Jeong-seon stated, “Public officials are servants to the people, and active administration is no longer a choice but a necessity,” adding, “All public officials belonging to our Office of Education will work together actively to achieve results that make the people smile.”
Meanwhile, the Office of Education has been making multifaceted efforts to encourage public interest and participation in active administration. Since the second half of last year, excellent cases have been selected by reflecting online public voting scores. In March, an online public vote was conducted to select two key citizen-experienced active administration tasks for 2023.
