BNK Gyeongnam Bank is holding a solo exhibition by Noh Cheon-ung at the BNK Gyeongnam Bank Gallery rental exhibition space until the 31st.
The solo exhibition by Noh Cheon-ung, titled "Target Yield Rate 100,000% Works," features a total of 30 contemporary art pieces, with 10 main works sized 200-ho (259.1×193.9 cm).
BNK Gyeongnam Bank is holding the BNK Gyeongnam Bank Gallery rental exhibition "No Cheon-woong Solo Exhibition."
The exhibited works use "caption works," which include information such as descriptions or illustrations, to satirize the phenomenon where people excessively focus on information about the artwork rather than the essence of the art itself.
Some pieces, despite not using phosphorescent paint, react sensitively to light and create the Purkinje effect (a phenomenon where visual sensitivity shifts), giving a mysterious feeling even in dark spaces where colors are indistinguishable.
Noh Cheon-ung, an artist from Busan, has been creating works in various styles since 2011 under the concept of "Anti-Focus," which emphasizes having a broader perspective or diverse viewpoints.
Last year, he held a total of six solo exhibitions: four in Seoul, one in Ulsan, and one in Daegu.
The artist stated, "The solo exhibition is composed of works that combine 'minimalism,' which pursues simplicity and conciseness, with 'maximalism,' an artistic trend that seeks excess or extremity. The bold colors appearing in the works cannot be conveyed through digital technology and must be seen in person. I hope many visitors come to the BNK Gyeongnam Bank Gallery to appreciate works that stimulate deep essence both visually and consciously."
At the Noh Cheon-ung solo exhibition at the BNK Gyeongnam Bank Gallery, sales are also being conducted so that customers and local residents can purchase high-quality contemporary artworks at reasonable prices.
The artist's price is set at 100,000 KRW per ho, with an additional 10% to 20% discount for residents of Gyeongnam, including Changwon.
Local residents who wish to view the Noh Cheon-ung solo exhibition or purchase works can visit the BNK Gyeongnam Bank headquarters from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
