[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Meritz Securities (CEO Choi Heemun) announced on the 19th that it will operate overseas stocks, overseas derivatives, and CFD desks 24 hours a day during the Lunar New Year holiday period to facilitate convenient overseas market trading for customers.
The countries available for trading during the Lunar New Year holiday period are the United States, Japan, Canada, Singapore, Australia, and 11 European countries. Trading is not possible in China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam markets due to market closures, but orders can be placed through HTS, MTS, and phone.
The integrated margin service that allows overseas stock trading in Korean won is also available. During the holiday period, it is possible to trade US and Japanese stocks without currency exchange.
Meanwhile, Meritz Securities is running a promotion for non-face-to-face customers until the end of June this year, offering preferential overseas stock and overseas derivatives CME trading fees of 0.07% and $1.98 (per contract), respectively, and also provides a 90% discount on currency exchange fees and free real-time quotes for the US market.
