Lost Father at Age 9 and Pursued a Singing Career
Tragedy of Losing 27-Year-Old Son
Lisa Marie Presley (54), the only daughter of American singer Elvis Presley, known as the "Legend of Rock and Roll," and a singer herself, suddenly collapsed from a heart attack and ultimately passed away.
On the 12th (local time), according to foreign media such as CNN in the United States and BBC in the United Kingdom, Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla Presley, announced that her daughter had died that day.
Priscilla released a statement saying, "It is with a heavy heart that I share the shocking news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," adding, "She was the most passionate and strong woman I have ever known."
She continued, "Thank you for the love and prayers you have sent," and added, "At this time, there will be no further comments. We ask for privacy for our family as we go through this serious loss."
Lisa Marie collapsed from a heart attack at her home in Calabasas, California, and after emergency responders arrived and provided first aid, she was immediately transported to the hospital. However, she reportedly passed away just a few hours later.
Lisa Marie was actively participating in events as recently as two days before the heart attack, attending the Golden Globe Awards held in Beverly Hills on the 10th. At that time, she watched Austin Butler, the lead actor in the movie "Elvis," a biopic about her father Elvis Presley, receive the Best Actor award.
Lisa Marie was born in Tennessee, USA, in 1968. Around the age of nine, her father Elvis died of a heart attack, and she later pursued a career as a singer, gaining public recognition.
Lisa Marie was married four times in total. In 1994, she married Michael Jackson but divorced after two years. In 2002, she married actor Nicolas Cage but divorced in less than two years. In 2020, she experienced the tragedy of her son Benjamin Keough taking his own life at the age of 27.
