Sharing, Participation, and Communication... Busan Gijang-gun Jeonggwan-eup Hosts 'Jeonggwan Sharing Flea Market' 2022 Jeonggwan Sharing Flea Market Poster.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Jeonggwan-eup Administrative Welfare Center and the Jeonggwan-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee in Gijang-gun, Busan, will hold the '2022 Jeonggwan Sharing Flea Market,' a resource recycling sharing market, for two days on the 22nd and 23rd at Plaza No. 8 next to Jeonggwan-eup Central Park.

This flea market will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. under the theme of 'Sharing, Participation, and Communication.'

The event consists of ▲'Kids Flea Market,' ▲'General Recycling Flea Market' where used items are sold, and ▲'Handmade Flea Market' where participants sell their own creative works. A portion of the sales proceeds donated by participants will be used to help neighbors in need.

In addition, various side events such as street performances, a direct transaction market for agricultural and specialty products from Seolcheon-myeon, Muju-gun, a sister city of Gijang-gun and Jeonggwan-eup, and experiential events will be held together.

This event will be conducted as a 'Zero Waste' campaign, a global initiative aimed at reducing waste by minimizing packaging or using recyclable materials.

An environmental booth zone themed on resource circulation and zero waste will be set up at the event site to allow children and teenagers to directly experience the importance of the environment.

Also, aiming for a waste-free festival and minimizing waste output, Jeonggwan-eup, the Ecological Stream Learning Culture Festival Promotion Committee, and the Gijang-gun Saemaul Association will jointly operate four recycling collection stations during the event period.

The recycling collection stations will be operated at four locations: two at Central Park, one at Witgol Park, and one at Plaza No. 8.

Kim Jong-cheon, head of Jeonggwan-eup, said, “Festival waste disposal has always been a problem, and we joined the zero waste campaign thinking about how to reduce waste. We hope everyone actively participates to reduce festival waste through proper sorting.”

Moon Jae-cheol, chairman of the Jeonggwan-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, “The Jeonggwan Sharing Flea Market is a place of communication and sharing led and directly participated in by residents, as well as a place for resource recycling. We hope for much interest and participation from local residents.”

Park Yong-joo, president of the Gijang-gun Saemaul Association, said, “We will take the lead in waste-free festivals to reduce carbon emissions at upcoming Gijang-gun festivals.”
