[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] On the 3rd, marking Gaecheonjeol, both ruling and opposition parties emphasized livelihood and overcoming crises respectively.

Yang Geum-hee, Chief Spokesperson of the People Power Party, said in a statement, "Today is the 4354th anniversary of Gaecheonjeol," adding, "The spirit of Hongik Ingan, meaning 'to broadly benefit humanity,' likely means to take good care of people's livelihood and make citizens' lives comfortable."

Spokesperson Yang stated, "The People Power Party and the Yoon Seok-yeol administration will reflect on the spirit of Hongik Ingan and devote all efforts solely based on livelihood to take care of the people's lives."

She continued, "Although there is little time to put heads together and gather wisdom on various issues such as economy, diplomacy, and security, the opposition party is still preoccupied with obstructing state affairs for party interests," emphasizing, "As the ruling party with unlimited responsibility for state affairs, the People Power Party will not give up persuading the opposition to return to the field of livelihood."

She promised, "We will open a broad stage of opportunity like the sky so that our people, who have overcome national crises at every historical turning point, can fully demonstrate their potential," and "We will surely turn every crisis into an opportunity for a leap forward and build a nation of Korea where all citizens prosper together."

An Ho-young, Chief Spokesperson of the Democratic Party of Korea, also urged in a written briefing, "On the occasion of Gaecheonjeol, I hope the president becomes one who benefits the people."

Spokesperson An said, "Today marks the beginning of our nation's history 4354 years ago," adding, "Unfortunately, the Republic of Korea is not on a smooth path right now."

He continued, "The government, which should lead crisis recovery, is only focused on covering up diplomatic disasters stained with insults while neglecting economic and livelihood crises," criticizing, "The people worry day by day about the economic crisis, but the president keeps making excuses every day."

"The Yoon administration must reflect on the spirit of 'Hongik Ingan' and devote all its efforts to governing for the benefit of the people," he said, adding, "The Democratic Party will urge the government and ruling party to fulfill their roles in overcoming the crisis during the upcoming National Assembly audit."
