Haesung DS Signs Business Agreement with 12 Related Organizations Including Local Universities and Specialized High Schools
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam signed a business agreement with 12 related organizations to foster talent for semiconductor technology innovation.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has decided to actively support semiconductor specialized companies and create jobs.
On the 30th at 2 p.m., Changwon City announced that it signed a 'Business Agreement for Semiconductor Technology Innovation Talent Development' with 12 related organizations, including Haesung DS, at the 3rd meeting room.
At the signing ceremony, Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Jo Byung-hak, CEO of Haesung DS, a leading local semiconductor company, representatives from three universities including Changwon National University, two research institutes including the Korea Institute of Materials Science, and representatives from four specialized high schools including Changwon Mechanical Industry High School attended. They signed the business agreement and agreed to join forces to nurture core semiconductor personnel and create good jobs.
The agreement includes mutual cooperation among Changwon Special City and the 12 related organizations on education and training for semiconductor technology innovation talent development, such as ▲providing local jobs in the semiconductor field ▲expanding opportunities to participate in practical field programs ▲utilizing research equipment and planning joint research projects ▲technical consulting to strengthen technological competitiveness ▲developing and operating customized semiconductor education programs ▲training practical core professionals.
With this agreement, local universities and specialized high schools will focus on nurturing customized practical talents demanded by companies, and Haesung DS will provide good jobs to them. The Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute and the Korea Institute of Materials Science plan to create a virtuous cycle of co-growth through technical consulting and operation of educational programs to help company employees become advanced talents.
Mayor Hong said, “Semiconductors are a core field of future industries along with nuclear power and defense,” and added, “We will actively support local semiconductor specialized companies and strive to create jobs so that local talents can settle in related companies.”
