Byeongno Lee, Damyang County Governor, Visits National Assembly to Secure National Budget 'All-Out Effort'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang County is working tirelessly to secure next year's national budget and respond to urgent issues.

On the 22nd, Damyang County, Jeollanam-do, visited the National Assembly to explain the feasibility of securing national projects for 2023 and requested a National Assembly-level response to address current issues.

The visit was accompanied by Damyang County Governor Lee Byeongno and Damyang County Council Chairman Choi Yongman. They met with eight hometown friends, including National Assembly members Lee Gaeho, Jo Oseop, Yoon Youngdeok, Ko Yongjin, and Lee Seongbaek, president of the Seoul Gyeonghu Association, to discuss issues related to the creation of a resting place for the Seoul Gyeonghu Association.

The main national budget proposals include ▲ Construction of the National Korean Garden Culture Center ▲ Expansion of Local Road No. 60 from Goseo to Changpyeong in Damyang ▲ Improvement of hazardous roads on Local Road No. 60 in Mujeong, Damyang ▲ Establishment of a circular landfill facility ▲ Development of an administrative complex town, totaling 12 projects amounting to 39.7 billion KRW.

They also urged the National Assembly to prepare measures against the rice price collapse and appealed for full support from the National Assembly and hometown associations to promote the hometown love donation campaign.

Meanwhile, to proactively respond to the Hometown Love Donation Act, which will be implemented from 2023, Damyang, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, and Jangseong counties have agreed to establish a (tentative name) Seoul Joint Office for joint response.

Governor Lee Byeongno stated, “Securing resources for realizing a new Damyang together with the residents in the 8th term of civilian administration and listening to and reflecting the voices of the residents through communicative administration are important,” adding, “We will continue to maintain an organic relationship with the National Assembly to listen to and resolve the difficulties of the residents.”
