[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Hite Jinro announced on the 7th that it will launch a new 1.9-liter PET bottle of Terra to diversify consumer choices within the home channel. With the release of the new size, the Terra large-capacity PET lineup has expanded to a total of three products, alongside the existing 1L and 1.6L beer PET bottles.
Hite Jinro explained that as demand for outdoor activities such as travel and camping increases, PET products with portability and cost-effectiveness are highly preferred. Through a consumer survey conducted in the first half of this year, the company determined the optimal capacity for consumers who found the 1.6L size insufficient. Additionally, in response to the high inflation era, the company increased the volume but lowered the wholesale price (compared to the per ml price of the 1.0L PET), thereby enhancing cost-effectiveness. The PET specifications also maintain the familiar grip by keeping the diameter of the 1.6L PET unchanged while slightly increasing the height. The new PET bottles will begin shipping today and will be sequentially stocked in large supermarkets and supermarkets nationwide.
A Hite Jinro official stated, “This new lineup was introduced as a result of efforts to listen to even small consumer needs and understand trends,” adding, “We will continue to target the home channel with the large-capacity trend, which is gaining consumer popularity due to its reasonable price and convenience.”
