Missblock announced on the 6th that it will jointly develop the NFT platform for medical devices certification, ‘MediCerti (tentative name),’ with a domestic IT company.
In dental treatment, ‘implants’ have traditionally been accompanied by paper-based genuine certificates issued by hospitals, but these are vulnerable to forgery, loss, and damage, and post-treatment management has been difficult due to hospital or attending physician changes.
Various medical devices are used not only in dentistry but also in other medical fields. Examples include implants and fillers in plastic surgery and dermatology, artificial joints in orthopedics, and intraocular lenses in ophthalmology. The use of genuine products from trusted manufacturers is an essential factor for safe and satisfactory treatment outcomes when medical devices are involved.
The blockchain-based ‘MediCerti (tentative name)’ developed by Missblock transparently records the entire process from medical device production to distribution and procedure as NFTs, helping patients receive treatment with confidence. Manufacturers and medical institutions can conveniently input and transmit unique medical device numbers, and consumers can easily verify the proof of the medical devices used in their procedures at any time.
Missblock is currently promoting collaboration with a domestic IT company to develop the ‘MediCerti’ service. Beyond the dental medical services previously provided through ‘Anapatok,’ this aims to contribute to the advancement of the medical data industry by transparently managing production, distribution, and procedure data of medical materials and devices used across various medical fields, storing them as NFTs.
Kim Dohee, CEO of Missblock, stated, “We will actively work on securing networks for commercialization while introducing the ‘Medical Device NFT Certificate’ that can be safely used by both consumers and hospitals to the public,” adding, “Through successful bridging with manufacturers and medical institutions, we will lead the market as the domestic medical NFT platform.”
