Ulsan City Supports Expansion of Subcontracting Participation by Local Construction Companies ... Headquarters Visit to Large Construction Sites Ulsan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan City will promote visits to the headquarters of large-scale construction sites for three days from the 28th to the 30th to revitalize the stagnant local construction industry.

The visits were planned in cooperation with the Korea Specialty Contractors Association and the Mechanical Equipment Construction Association to provide local companies with opportunities to participate in construction projects and increase subcontracting participation rates at large construction sites currently underway in Ulsan.

Since 2015, the city has been conducting joint visits to the headquarters of large construction companies, but was unable to do so from 2020 until last year due to COVID-19.

The headquarters targeted for visits include those of 7 companies, such as IS Dongseo and Daewoo Construction, all headquartered in Seoul, overseeing 15 sites including the Ulju-gun Deokha District apartment construction project and the Jung-gu B-05 housing redevelopment maintenance project district.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “To expand the subcontracting rate of local construction companies facing difficulties due to COVID-19 and rising oil prices, we plan to establish a close cooperative system with associations and continuously conduct visits and promotional activities targeting clients, related organizations, headquarters of large construction companies, and large project sites, thereby implementing field-centered administration.”
