Smart Safety Management Support Project Equipment <Source: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport>
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Infrastructure Safety & Technology Corporation announced on the 27th that they will hold a public contest for the Smart Construction Safety Support Pilot Project from the 28th to July 15th.
This project supports the installation and operation of smart construction safety equipment such as intelligent (AI) CCTV and structural collapse/displacement risk warning devices at small to medium-sized construction sites with budgets under 30 billion KRW.
Last year, the Korea Infrastructure Safety & Technology Corporation conducted the project independently at 12 sites in the Yeongnam region, and this year, the support target has been expanded to about 40 sites nationwide.
To ensure fairness and expertise, an operating committee including external experts will be formed, and evaluations will be comprehensively conducted based on construction scale, remaining construction period, presence of hazardous work types, and other factors. The support period for equipment installation and operation will be adjusted according to site conditions, with a maximum support duration of one year.
Detailed information regarding the public contest can be found on the websites of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Infrastructure Safety & Technology Corporation.
Kim Young-guk, Director of Technical Safety Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated, "We expect this to enhance construction safety management at small to medium-sized construction sites with weak safety management and promote the dissemination of smart safety technologies."
