Director of Myeongryang, Yi Sun-sin Trilogy

On the 24th, Lotte Entertainment announced that the film Hansan: Rising Dragon (director Kim Han-min) will be released on July 27.
The film depicts the Battle of Hansan, a war action epic about Admiral Yi Sun-sin and the Joseon navy united by desperate strategy and courage to protect Joseon against the advancing Japanese army five years before the Battle of Myeongnyang. It is the second installment directed by Kim Han-min in the Yi Sun-sin trilogy, following the record-breaking Myeongnyang (2014).
Park Hae-il, playing Joseon's greatest military commander Admiral Yi Sun-sin, reveals a young and strong image. His deep and intense gaze is the highlight. Portraying a general agonizing before a battle that determines the fate of the nation, he showcases the leadership of Joseon's greatest commander on screen.
Byun Yo-han plays the top Japanese general Wakizaka, pushing the Joseon forces into crisis. Following them, Ahn Sung-ki as Joseon navy commander Eo Yeong-dam and Son Hyun-joo as the defensive strategist Won Gyun deliver seasoned performances, while Kim Sung-kyu as the Japanese auxiliary soldier Junsa and Kim Sung-kyun as Wakizaka’s rival general Kato reveal new faces.
Kim Hyang-gi plays the spy Jeong Boreum infiltrating the Japanese army, Ok Taec-yeon plays scout Im Jun-young monitoring the situation, Gong Myung plays Joseon general Yi Eok-gi who follows Yi Sun-sin, and Park Ji-hwan plays turtle ship designer Na Dae-yong, all stepping forward to save Joseon's fate.
