[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A woman who threatened and assaulted a peer woman with a stun gun in a restroom at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul was apprehended by the police.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 31st that they arrested a woman in her 20s, identified as A, on charges of special intimidation.
According to the police, A is accused of punching the face of a peer woman, B, inside the restroom at Yeouido Hangang Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu around 9 p.m. the previous day and threatening her with a stun gun.
During the police investigation, A reportedly stated that she demanded B's ID after B asked to borrow a cigarette, and became angry and committed the crime when B snatched the ID while it was being returned.
It was also reported that A bit the wrist of another woman, C, who was trying to mediate the situation during the incident.
A police official explained, "The stun gun was confirmed to have been purchased online for self-defense," adding, "After completing the suspect's interrogation, she was handed over to her family."
