Gwangju Dong-gu "Let's DJ in the Asia Food Culture District"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 28th, Gwangju Dong-gu announced that on the 25th, it began the first lecture of the second expert workshop, ‘DJing Street,’ aimed at creating a diverse cultural commercial district including music and games along with food in the Asia Food Culture District.

‘DJing Street’ is a program where ‘Color in Deep Ocean (Simhae Team),’ a performance and content planner based on DJing within the Asia Food Culture District, was invited as an instructor to teach the overall DJing culture, from basic DJing theory to mixing practice.

The first class by the Simhae Team, who stated that the goal is to ‘create a DJing culture that anyone can challenge,’ was conducted as a time to understand various types of DJing, equipment, and share music genres favored by the participants.

Dong-gu plans to conduct a total of 10 sessions for the 12 final selected applicants from the workshop, covering ▲understanding mixing techniques ▲beat matching skills ▲application of various sound effects ▲intermediate mixing practice according to music characteristics.

Additionally, in connection with the Asia Food Culture District festival scheduled for August, a cultural festival will be held where workshop participants will present their directly recorded results (DJing mix sets).

A Dong-gu official said, “The first expert workshop, ‘Delicious Street,’ which involved Chef Kang Leo and CEO Choi Seok-min, gained popularity and became an opportunity to revitalize the Asia Food Culture District,” adding, “We will continue to provide wholehearted support so that the Asia Food Culture District can coexist with diverse cultures including food, music, and games.”
