[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The female venture industry expressed a warm welcome to Lee Young, the nominee for Minister of SMEs and Startups, announced on the 13th.
The Korea Women Venture Association released a statement on the 14th, saying, "Candidate Lee is an expert in the information and communication field and a first-generation female venture entrepreneur who has actively engaged in legislative activities for SMEs and startups even after being elected as a member of the 21st National Assembly."
They continued, "Based on her extensive experience and expertise accumulated in the venture industry, we are confident that she is the right person to lead policies that drive the innovative growth of SMEs and startups and play a pivotal role in the development of the innovative venture ecosystem." Candidate Lee served as the president of the Women Venture Association from 2015 to 2017.
The association stated, "As a politician who communicates closely with the innovative venture industry and listens to voices from the field, we expect her to implement field-centered policies that reflect the voices of SMEs and startups going forward."
In particular, they said, "We hope she will promote effective policies that improve regulations hindering business growth and invigorate corporate activities," and added, "We also urge her to devote great effort to fostering women-led ventures and startups in terms of securing diversity for the sustainable development of the innovative venture ecosystem."
Finally, they said, "The female venture industry will also overcome crises through a strong venture spirit and actively strive for South Korea's economic growth and the creation of good jobs."
