[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The General Affairs Committee of the Gwangyang City Council in Jeonnam (Chairman Choi Dae-won) announced on the 29th that it conducted an on-site inspection to assess the status of major projects during the 2021 administrative audit period.
The City Council has been conducting audits on overall city administration tasks targeting each department and bureau of Gwangyang City as well as private consignment organizations from November 25, and plans to conclude with policy inquiries on December 2-3.
The General Affairs Committee visited major project sites and facilities to listen to the progress of projects and engaged in Q&A sessions. On-site, council members heard complaints and suggestions regarding issues in project implementation and held communication sessions to devise alternatives, conducting field-centered legislative activities.
The committee visited the ‘Metal Processing Heat Treatment Support Center’ located in Iksin Industrial Complex, Gwangyang-eup, to hear about operational status and discuss development plans. Then, at the site related to the transmission towers in Sepung-ri, they met with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) officials and requested continuous communication with local residents. They also visited the Gwangyang Maeil Market modernization project site and Sarasil Art Village to listen to suggestions.
They checked progress and heard stakeholders’ suggestions at the Gwangyang Permanent Market and Gwangyeong Building, and visited the Wau and Dochon Port fishing village New Deal project site, urging the project’s solidification by linking it with tourism industries such as the Yi Sun-sin Bridge theme street.
Chairman Choi Dae-won stated, “To strengthen the substance of the administrative audit, we conducted on-site inspections of major project sites and facilities,” and added, “We will carefully review the problems, areas needing improvement, and suggestions directly confirmed on-site to conduct an in-depth administrative audit.”
