KOTRA Hosts Global Job Fair Online... 81 Companies from 12 Countries Participate

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] KOTRA announced on the 27th that it will hold the '2021 Second Half Global Job Fair' online until the 2nd of next month in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.


In this global job fair, 81 companies from 12 countries plan to hire 282 Korean youths. By country, there are 42 companies from Japan, 10 from the United States, 7 from China, 4 from Vietnam, 3 from Malaysia, 3 from Canada, 3 from Australia, 3 from the UAE, 2 from Germany, 2 from Mexico, and 1 each from New Zealand and Singapore. By industry, the job openings are distributed as follows: IT & Information (22%), Manufacturing (23%), Wholesale & Retail (11%), Professional Services (11%), Services (10%), Finance (5%), and Food Service (5%).


The main event includes the World Job Talk Concert II. The event consists of a 'Country-specific Employment Strategy Briefing' featuring KOTRA trade office representatives from nine countries including the United States, Japan, and Singapore?countries preferred by job seekers for overseas employment?along with local employment seniors. It also includes 'Special Lectures on Overseas Expansion by Sector' directly delivered by related organizations such as the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Working Holiday Info Center.


Kim Yoon-tae, Head of KOTRA's Small and Medium Enterprises Division, stated, "We will discover new quality jobs targeting countries with improved COVID-19 conditions such as North America and Europe, and countries without entry restrictions."
