Audit Committee Forum to Hold '2021 4th Regular Forum' on the 18th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] The Audit Committee Forum, a non-profit organization, announced on the 19th that it will hold the '4th Regular Forum of 2021' on the 18th of next month for auditors and audit committee members of listed companies and others.

The Audit Committee Forum was established in 2018 by the four major domestic accounting firms (Samil, Samjong, Anjin, and Han Young) to help enhance the expertise of auditors and audit committee members for improving corporate accounting transparency.

The first session of this forum will feature Professor Kim Beom-jun from Catholic University as the presenter. He will examine institutional and practical improvement measures for the model code of the audit committee to effectively perform the accounting oversight function of the audit committee.

In the second session, Shim Jeong-hoon, Managing Director of Samjong KPMG, will give a lecture on the topic of 'The Role of the Audit Committee in Fraud Investigation and Reporting Based on Cases of Earnings Management.' Based on case studies of earnings management, the session will cover issues such as the receipt of fraud reports, management's response, external auditors' raising of concerns, and audit committee-led fraud investigations and follow-up actions.

An official from the Audit Committee Forum stated, "Through this forum, we hope to recognize the increasing responsibilities and roles of auditors and audit committee members, and that effective operation of audit committees will enhance accounting transparency and corporate competitiveness of our companies."

Participation in the Audit Committee Forum's regular forum is free of charge. Applications can be made on the Audit Committee Forum website.
