Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Opens Maumsimter at Three Locations Including National Mokpo Hospital Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on the 27th that it has opened the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Library "Maeumsim(心)ter" for patients and guardians at the National Mokpo Hospital and the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Jeongseon Hospital.

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on the 27th that it has opened the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Library "Maeumsim(心)ter" for patients and guardians at the National Mokpo Hospital and the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service Jeongseon Hospital.

This project is a social contribution activity that Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance and the non-profit organization Arcon have been carrying out together for six years since 2015, supporting over 18,000 new books to 18 hospitals in 10 regions so far and conducting cultural healing programs.

National Mokpo Hospital is a specialized tuberculosis hospital in Korea, and due to the nature of the disease, patients and guardians who cannot freely go out and spend long hours in the hospital are expected to find Maeumsimter a new place of rest.

The Maeumsimter at Jeongseon Hospital has been transformed from an old and worn-out book cafe into a clean space with about 1,000 new books, bookshelves, chairs, and other furnishings newly replaced. Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance plans to open an additional Maeumsimter at Daegu Namsan Hospital within this year.

Maeumsimter is operated safely with restrictions on the number of users and time limits according to COVID-19 prevention guidelines. Depending on the COVID-19 situation, it will be opened not only to patients and families within the hospital but also as a cultural welfare space for nearby local residents.

A Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance official said, "We hope Maeumsimter becomes a small but comfortable space that provides rest and stability to patients, families, and hospital staff who are exhausted from long-term hospital life due to COVID-19."
