Clean Planet Supports Afghan Special Contributors with Goods Worth 45 Million KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Comprehensive paper company Kkaekkeuthan Nara announced on the 24th that it has sponsored daily necessities and hygiene products worth 45 million won for 390 special contributors from Afghanistan, enough for about two months of use.

The special contributors are a total of 390 employees and their families who worked together at the Korean Embassy in Afghanistan, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Bagram Korean Hospital, Bagram Korean Vocational Training Center, and Charika Korean Local Reconstruction Team, assisting Korea's Afghan reconstruction projects. Among them, about 100 infants under the age of five, including three newborns born in August, are known.

Kkaekkeuthan Nara sponsored more than 30,000 sanitary pads and over 20,000 baby diapers, considering that the special contributors and their spouses and children entered the country carrying only minimal belongings. In addition, 60,000 Kkaekkeuthan Nara yellow dust quarantine masks were donated for hygiene management amid the COVID-19 situation. The sponsored items will be delivered to the National Human Resources Development Institute, a temporary living facility located in Jincheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, through the Korean Red Cross ESG Cooperation Team.

A Kkaekkeuthan Nara official said, "Kkaekkeuthan Nara operates workplaces in Cheongju City and Eumseong County near Jincheon, Chungbuk, and upon hearing that the special contributors and their families are staying in Jincheon, we decided to sponsor daily necessities and hygiene products," adding, "We are glad to be able to offer some help to the special contributors who are struggling to adapt to a new place."
