[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] A man in his 40s wielded a weapon at a restaurant in Changwon, Gyeongnam, resulting in one death and three injuries.
Changwon Western Police Station announced on the 22nd that they have apprehended and are investigating A (49) on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon (murder) against B, a man in his 60s, and three others at a restaurant in Sodap-dong, Changwon City, around 7 p.m. on the 21st.
It was found that A attacked B, a senior from his hometown with whom he had a poor relationship, using a weapon he had prepared in advance.
Immediately after the report, B was transported to the hospital but ultimately died. The other three injured individuals are receiving treatment but are not in life-threatening condition.
A fled the scene after the crime but was caught by police around 11:10 p.m., about four hours later, in Jingu, Busan City.
The police are investigating A to determine the exact motive behind the crime.
