Expecting Management Innovation with Extensive Organizational Management Experience and Expertise in the Cultural Industry
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 3rd that Cho Hyun-rae, former Director General of the Ministry's Office of General Affairs (55), has been appointed as the new President of the Korea Creative Content Agency. The term is three years, until September 2024. The President of the Korea Creative Content Agency is appointed by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism from among candidates recommended by the Agency's Executive Recommendation Committee in accordance with the Act on the Management of Public Institutions. Minister Hwang Hee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated, "We must focus on overcoming the crisis in the content market through communication with the industry," and added, "Please do your best to ensure the growth of the content industry amid rapidly changing technologies and environments such as the expanded virtual world (metaverse) and online markets (platforms)."
President Cho graduated from Korea University with a degree in Public Administration and earned a master's degree in Public Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. He has served as Director General of the Content Policy Bureau, Director General of Tourism Industry Policy, and Director of Public Communication at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Ministry stated, "Based on his extensive experience in organizational management through a long public service career and expertise in the cultural industry sector, we expect him to achieve management innovation at the Korea Creative Content Agency as well as strengthen the global market competitiveness of the content industry."
