[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] About 50,000 people have signed a petition saying "Let's not let Jeff Bezos, the world's richest man and Amazon CEO, who is going on a space trip next month, return to Earth."

On the 20th (local time), according to the US economic media Business Insider, two petitions with this content were posted on the world's largest petition site, Change.org.

CEO Bezos will embark on a space trip on the 20th of next month aboard 'New Shepard,' the first space tourism rocket of Blue Origin, the private space exploration company he founded. He plans to personally participate in the company's first manned spaceflight along with his younger brother Mark.

Just three days after Bezos announced this plan, on the 10th, two petitions appeared calling for Bezos, who went to space, not to be allowed to return to Earth.

One petition titled "Do not allow Jeff Bezos to return to Earth" gathered over 31,000 signatures. The petition stated, "Billionaires should not exist on Earth or in space," and "But if they choose the latter, they should stay there."

Those who signed this petition supported it by saying, "Returning to Earth is a privilege, not a right," and "Earth does not want people like Jeff, Bill (Gates), Elon (Musk), and other billionaires."

The other petition, titled "Petition to not allow Jeff Bezos to re-enter Earth," reportedly gathered about 19,000 signatures.

The proposer of this petition wrote, "Bezos is an evil ruler determined to dominate the whole world," and "The fate of humanity is in your hands."

Meanwhile, on the 20th of next month, Bezos will take an 11-minute space trip aboard a space exploration capsule. He will ascend to the Karman line, considered the boundary between Earth's atmosphere and space, at an altitude of 100 km, then separate from the propulsion unit and return to Earth.
