[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 18th that it held a "Pork Soup Taste Consulting and Recipe Development Seminar" for local pork soup restaurants to brand the region's representative dish, "Miryang Dwaeji Gukbap."
On this day, the city received participation applications from the restaurants attending the business briefing, and a judging panel composed of external experts will select seven candidate restaurants for consulting after on-site evaluations.
The selected restaurants will analyze overall aspects such as business conditions, hygiene, taste, and recipes, and apply improvements by October to enhance not only taste and hygiene but also overall service.
Additionally, they plan to develop a standard recipe with above-average taste, reasonable pricing, and a story using local agricultural products, and organize a tasting event for stakeholders featuring new menu presentations.
Starting with this consulting, branding projects such as registering the "Miryang Dwaeji Gukbap" trademark, creating a pork soup specialty street, developing characters, and producing the Mil-Shellin Guide will be promoted annually, which is expected to improve the quality of pork soup and establish it as a representative dish of the city.
