Smart Tire Technology Startup and Eco-Friendly Waste Management Company Join Forces to Collect Data

Hankook Tire Develops Intelligent Tire with US Startup

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hankook Tire & Technology announced on the 27th that it will conduct a pilot program for the development of intelligent tires in collaboration with Revo Technology and Junk King in the United States. Revo Technology is a U.S.-based smart tire technology startup, and Junk King is a leading eco-friendly waste management company in the North American region.

This project will be carried out by applying Revo's advanced tire sensor technology and data analysis tools to Hankook Tire's truck and bus tire series, "SmartFlex." The tire sensing platforms of Hankook Tire and Revo will be installed on Junk King's trucks operating in California, USA, to collect data in real time.

Hankook Tire and others plan to process this data to obtain actionable information such as tire tread life prediction, abnormal operation detection, maintenance interval and setting optimization, and real-time alerts, focusing on improving safety, operational efficiency, and driving time.

Hankook Tire stated, "Due to the nature of tires, there are not many ways for fleet managers to check their condition. To strengthen our tire technology and vehicle management solution development capabilities, we have been researching methods to secure and analyze real-time information by utilizing tire data during driving," adding, "Through this collaboration with Revo, we expect to accelerate the development of intelligent tires significantly."
