Multipurpose Complex Facility... Developed as a Landmark Representing Family Happiness
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 13th that the 'Ttangkkeut Family Harmony Center,' which will support comprehensive services for childbirth, childcare, and care, will begin construction next month and is scheduled to start operation in the first half of next year.
The county held the final report meeting for the basic and detailed design of the Ttangkkeut Family Harmony Center, a living SOC complex facility, on December 29 last year.
The Ttangkkeut Family Harmony Center is a multi-purpose complex facility equipped with a family center, national and public daycare center, Dahamkke Care Center, Healthy Family and Multicultural Center, toy library, neighborhood kitchen, and neighborhood cafe.
It is located on the site of the former public library in Gyo-ri, Haenam-eup, and will be built with a total floor area of approximately 4,200㎡, consisting of one basement floor and four above-ground floors.
Reflecting Haenam-gun’s advanced childbirth policies, which ranked first nationwide in total fertility rate for seven consecutive years from 2012 to 2018, the facility will serve as a landmark and foundational infrastructure for the key pledge of the 7th local government administration, ‘Making Haenam a good place to have and raise children,’ by integrating functions such as childcare, care, and family health.
From the detailed design stage, the county formed a promotion committee consisting of experts from various fields, daycare workers, mom cafe members, multicultural family center officials, and village residents, held four report meetings, and actively incorporated residents’ opinions into the design through on-site consulting by specialized institutions.
In particular, in November last year, it was selected as an excellent local government in the living SOC complex family center space composition category organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the Korea Institute for Healthy Family Promotion, and is expected to be used as a benchmarking and policy promotion material for local governments planning family centers in the future.
The Ttangkkeut Family Harmony Center has completed preliminary certification for Barrier-Free (BF) living environment and is currently in the process of preliminary certification for energy efficiency rating and green building, with plans to complete the basic and detailed design service by January.
A county official stated, “We will make every effort to ensure that the establishment of the Ttangkkeut Family Harmony Center, which will lead the core functions of Haenam-gun’s childbirth and parenting policies, proceeds without any setbacks,” and added, “We will make the Family Harmony Center a landmark representing family happiness.”
