Dongjak-gu, WagleWagle Ontact Peaceful Unification Education... Online Peaceful Unification Education for 45 Elementary Student Family Teams on the 21st... Unification Program Includes 3D Puzzle Making, North Korean Food Experience, and Online Unification Golden Bell
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) will conduct the "Wagle Wagle Ontact Peaceful Unification Education for Parents and Children" from 1 PM on the 21st.
This education program is designed to strengthen communication between generations through experiential programs on the theme of peaceful unification, which parents and children usually find difficult to discuss, and to cultivate a sound perspective on unification and history.
The participants are 45 family teams residing in the area with elementary school children, recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, and participation is free of charge. However, parents must participate together.
Applications can be made through the KakaoTalk channel "Dongjak Peaceful Unification Education" or "Dongjak-gu Wagle Wagle Ontact Peaceful Unification Education," and individual notifications will be sent on the 17th.
In addition, the district will separately send a class kit consisting of 3D puzzles and ingredients for making North Korean street food, as well as a Zoom meeting access ID before the education session.
First, an expert in the field of unification will serve as an instructor and conduct the "Peaceful Unification Classroom Studying While Making 3D Puzzles" through a Zoom video conference.
By assembling symbols related to unification with the provided 3D puzzle pieces in advance, participants can enhance creativity and cultivate historical knowledge.
Also, through "Making North Korean Street Food with Mom" and screening dramas related to North Korean local cuisine, participants can directly experience North Korean food culture and gain a closer understanding of North Korea.
In the final session, an "Online Unification Golden Bell Ringing Together" will be held, featuring various questions such as OX quizzes and multiple-choice questions related to unification that elementary students should basically know, helping them understand history correctly and develop preparedness for unification.

In August, as part of the peaceful unification education project, the district conducted the "Enjoyable Peaceful Unification Board Game" with a total of 25 local elementary students and parents participating, sharing thoughts through board games on the theme of peaceful unification.
Choi Hwanbong, head of the Autonomous Administration Division, said, "We hope this peaceful unification education will be an opportunity for parents and children to communicate and share their thoughts together," and added, "We look forward to the participation of many parents and students."
Meanwhile, last September, the district promoted the "Generational Empathy Unification Expedition," with a total of 157 elementary school students and parents in the area participating, experiencing the reality of division and pledging their will for unification through activities such as ringing the Peace Bell at Imjingak, visiting the Demilitarized Zone, touring the Third Tunnel, and making the Taegeukgi flag symbolizing peace and unification.
