[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] Yoo Intae, former Secretary General of the National Assembly and considered an 'original pro-Roh' (pro Roh Moo-hyun) figure, said about Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, "It is frivolous for the minister to post such writings on social networking services (SNS) just because some rank-and-file prosecutors slightly criticized her." This was a remark regarding Choo's repeated criticism of about 230 frontline prosecutors who supported posts critical of her.

On the 2nd, Yoo appeared on SBS's 'Jooyoungjin's News Briefing' and, when asked about Choo's SNS activities, said, "SNS addicts compete for every second when writing posts," adding, "Among heads of state, only U.S. President Donald Trump likes this," responding in this way.

He continued, "I hope people in responsible positions would please stop SNS activities."

On the 29th of last month, Minister Choo posted on her Facebook a news article related to prosecutor Lee Hwan-woo (43, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 39) of Jeju District Prosecutors' Office, who had previously criticized her, attaching the article with the comment, "Good. If you come out like this, reform is the only answer."

However, Choo's post sparked backlash from prosecutors. Prosecutor Choi Jaeman (48, Judicial Research and Training Institute class 36) of Chuncheon District Prosecutors' Office responded by writing on the prosecutors' internal network, "I share the same thoughts as Prosecutor Lee Hwan-woo, so I also come out," and subsequently, more than 230 comments expressing support from rank-and-file prosecutors were posted on Choi's message.

In response, Minister Choo posted again on Facebook on the 31st of last month, countering, "Uncomfortable truths must continue. Until we face them without turning away."

Meanwhile, former Secretary General Yoo also criticized Minister Choo for inappropriate behavior on the 26th of last month.

On that day, when asked by a host on a broadcast, "What do you think about the conflicting remarks between Prosecutor General Yoon and Minister Choo on the same topic?" he replied, "Prosecutor General Yoon crossed the line many times during the National Assembly audit," but added, "Since Minister Choo was more inappropriate earlier, it seems relatively tolerated."

He further criticized, "In the past, if the head of an audited institution showed such an attitude, both ruling and opposition parties would scold them together. But when Minister Choo showed a much worse attitude (than Prosecutor General Yoon), Democratic Party lawmakers said nothing and covered for her. Because this side (the ruling party) has a record, they have nothing to say about Prosecutor General Yoon's attitude."
