[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] At around 11:48 AM on the 30th, a fire broke out near the 5th ridge of Jokduribong Peak in Bukhansan, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and related authorities including the fire department and police are currently extinguishing it.


The fire department has instructed hikers and others on Bukhansan to descend the mountain, and it is currently reported that no civilians remain on the mountain.


The distance from the fire site to the apartments where residents live is only about 300 meters.


So far, no casualties have been reported, and a total of 338 personnel have been mobilized, including 140 firefighters, 65 district office staff, 50 police officers, 22 Korea Forest Service personnel, and 57 National Park Service personnel.


Equipment deployed includes 29 fire trucks, 10 police vehicles, totaling 57 vehicles, and 9 helicopters from the Korea Forest Service, fire department, and military.


Additional personnel and equipment continue to be mobilized.


The fire department issued a 'Response Level 1' alarm, which dispatches all personnel from the jurisdictional fire station, at 12:38 PM, 50 minutes after the fire report was received, and is currently working to control the flames.


A fire department official stated, "We are continuously deploying additional personnel and resources to carry out firefighting operations."


The exact damage area and cause of the fire have not been confirmed.
