On the 29th at 2 p.m., Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, attended the 5th Seoul Children's Creative Film Festival held at Seoul Dongdap Elementary School, presenting awards in the non-competitive category and taking commemorative photos with the winners.

The Seoul Children's Creative Film Festival began in 2016, reflecting the hopes of the local community to restore the film village at Seoul Dongdap Elementary School, which was built on the site of the Korean Film Studio, with the intention of strengthening cultural and arts education.
Children and youth from both domestic and international locations submit works they have directly produced to the festival, and this year, 84 teams submitted their works.
Among the 84 works, an event was held to award outstanding works, featuring guest speeches, performances by youth, and awards in various categories.
Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, also attended the festival, delivering a congratulatory speech, presenting awards in the non-competitive category, and encouraging the winners.
Dongdaemun-gu has been providing budget support for each Seoul Children's Creative Film Festival, and this year, it supported 25 million won to help children's creative activities.
Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol of Dongdaemun-gu stated, "Through the Seoul Children's Creative Film Festival held at Dongdap Elementary School, built on the site that led the golden age of Korean cinema in the 1960s, children will grow into talents who will lead the future of Korean film, and it will draw affection from senior figures currently active in the film industry as well as interest from the local community." He added, "Dongdaemun-gu will also actively support children's passion and talent for film by developing the currently under-construction Film Exhibition Experience Center into a cultural facility that can comprehensively function for filming, screening, exhibition, and education."
