[Photo] Chaehyunil, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, Attends Opening Ceremony of Shelter for the Deaf

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the afternoon of the 21st, Chaehyunil, the mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the opening ceremony of the Nongain Shelter, a customized integrated support welfare facility for the hearing and speech impaired.

The Nongain Shelter, opened in Yeongdeungpo-dong, was established as a space for customized counseling, information provision, and cultural life support for the hearing and speech impaired. Located within the Sign Language Interpretation Center, it is expected to be used not only for sign language counseling and education but also as a resting space where leisure activities can be enjoyed.

After the unveiling ceremony and a tour of the facility, Mayor Cha shared conversations with attendees and pledged to work hard to create an environment free of disability and discrimination and to prepare customized support measures.
