Jeon Nam-do Councilor Na Gwang-guk Visits Social Welfare Facilities for Chuseok

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Na Gwang-guk, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly, announced on the 26th that on the 24th, ahead of Chuseok, he visited social welfare facilities to share warm affection and promote a culture of sharing with marginalized groups.

On that day, Assemblyman Na Gwang-guk, along with Governor Kim Young-rok, the Deputy Governor, and the Mayor of Muan, visited social welfare facilities in Muan, including Sojeonwon, Mokpo Disabled Care Center, Hanseung Silver Care Nursing Home, and Seonyeong Senior Nursing Home, delivering consolation goods, listening to facility status reports, and encouraging the staff.

Sojeonwon, established in 1951, began by caring for underprivileged children and currently protects and nurtures children and adolescents from infants without family protection up to 18 years old, helping them grow up properly.

Assemblyman Na Gwang-guk said, “To ensure that the protected children can grow up healthy and pursue their big dreams in a good environment, we have secured 72 million won in the next year’s budget for the renovation of the dining facilities,” adding, “We will continue to strive for ongoing interest and support for marginalized neighbors at the provincial assembly level.”

He continued, “In a situation where everyone is restrained due to COVID-19, the hands that care for neighbors have decreased, making residents of welfare facilities feel even more isolated,” and expressed hope that “everyone will share warm affection and that this Chuseok holiday will be filled with compassion and togetherness with neighbors.”
