[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Policy Committee of the People Power Party selected and announced on the 23rd the "Top 10 National Disasters of the Moon Jae-in Government," covering all areas of failures under the Moon administration. This was intended to highlight the government's failures ahead of the 21st National Assembly's first regular audit session.
The top 10 national disasters include ▲livelihood and economic disasters ▲real estate disasters ▲incompetence, lack of principles, and irresponsibility in crisis management ▲loss of fairness and justice ▲ideological bias in personnel appointments ▲allegations of power-related corruption ▲nuclear phase-out policy disaster ▲diplomatic and security disasters ▲promotion of national division ▲hypocrisy and changing narratives.
In particular, regarding the real estate disaster, the issues pointed out were ▲the proliferation of patchwork policies failing to control housing prices ▲a surge in public burden due to all-out taxation ▲widening polarization of housing prices between Seoul and other regions ▲and the disconnect between the perceptions of President Moon and the ruling party and government from reality.
In the case of loss of fairness and justice, the main problems cited were ▲Cho Kuk's "Dad Chance" and Choo Mi-ae's "Mom Chance" ▲Yoon Mi-hyang's controversy over private use of donations to the Justice and Peace Foundation ▲and the lottery-like employment scandal at Incheon International Airport Corporation.
The Policy Committee stated, "We plan to actively utilize the Moon administration's national disasters as a promotional theme during the Chuseok holiday and as an agenda for the audit session," adding, "We will do our best to save the economy and livelihoods, which have fallen into the quagmire of disaster due to the Moon administration's incompetence and irresponsibility."
