[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] Choi Haeyoung (59), Chief of Daejeon Police Agency, was promoted and appointed as Chief of Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency on the 4th.
Appointee Choi is from Goesan, Chungbuk. After graduating from Goesan Middle School, Cheongju High School, and Dongguk University with a degree in Police Administration, he joined the police in 1987 as the 35th class of executive candidates. Since then, he has served as Chief of Okcheon Police Station, Chief of Seocho Police Station in Seoul, Personnel Officer at the National Police Agency, First and Second Deputy Chiefs of Chungnam Provincial Police Agency, and Director of the Traffic Bureau at the National Police Agency.
From December 2018, he served as the 4th Chief of Gyeonggi Bukbu Police Agency, and in January 2020, he took office as Chief of Daejeon Police Agency.
