84.5% of Daycare Centers in Gyeonggi-do Adopt 'Do Accounting Management System'

84.5% of Daycare Centers in Gyeonggi-do Adopt 'Do Accounting Management System'

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] It has been revealed that 8 out of 10 daycare centers in Gyeonggi-do have adopted the 'Gyeonggi-do Daycare Center Accounting Management System.' Gyeonggi-do plans to raise the adoption rate of this system to 100% by the end of this year.

According to Gyeonggi-do on the 14th, as of the end of last month, 9,153 daycare centers had adopted the Gyeonggi-do Daycare Center Accounting Management System, accounting for 84.5% of the total 10,835 daycare centers in the province. This is an increase of 6,777 centers compared to 2,376 centers (21%) at the beginning of this year.

Specifically, the breakdown is ▲ 1,001 public daycare centers (100%) ▲ 7,758 private and home daycare centers (83.3%) ▲ 394 corporate and other daycare centers (76.1%).

The Gyeonggi-do Daycare Center Accounting Management System is a system established by Gyeonggi-do since 2017 to enhance the public nature and transparency of daycare center operating expenses.

Starting with the mandatory adoption for public daycare centers in September 2018, the system is now being promoted for adoption in private, home, and corporate daycare centers as well.

Daycare centers using the provincial system must use all operating expenses with an approved (registered) dedicated payment card (Clean Card) and register the usage details in the system for management. All accounting and supporting documents are also stored and kept in the system, so daycare centers do not need to print and keep duplicate paper documents separately.

Additionally, before sending data to the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Integrated Childcare Information System each month, daycare centers can pre-verify accounting errors through the provincial system, which is an advantage.

The province plans to award institutions and provide special adjustment grants to cities and counties with high adoption rates, and daycare centers that have not adopted the system will be excluded from operating expense support next year.

Lee Soon-neum, Director of the Women and Family Bureau of Gyeonggi-do, emphasized, "As we receive support from the province, transparency and public nature must be guaranteed in the budget execution process," adding, "We will do our best to promote various support policies for daycare centers to build a public childcare infrastructure that parents can trust and entrust their children to."
