[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The wife of a friend accused of taking the college entrance exam on behalf of U.S. President Donald Trump has completely denied the allegations.

According to ABC News on the 9th (local time), Pam Schreiber, wife of Trump’s friend Joe Shapiro, posted a video statement on Twitter claiming that the allegation that Shapiro took the SAT for President Trump is not true.

Schreiber, a former tennis player and commentator for the sports media ESPN, is also a friend of President Trump.

Schreiber revealed that her late husband Shapiro, who passed away in 1999, first met President Trump at the University of Pennsylvania. Since Trump transferred from Fordham University to the University of Pennsylvania, the claim that he had someone take the SAT on his behalf is false.

Schreiber said, "My husband and President Trump became close because they both loved golf and shared the common background of being from New York City," adding, "President Trump often contacted him, and they met together at Trump Tower in New York City."

She continued, "Similar allegations were raised years ago and were explained to be untrue," adding, "It is unfair to raise these suspicions again."

She also pointed out, "My husband was a very truthful and honest person and the smartest person I have ever met," adding, "When mentioning someone's name in a book, especially if that person is already deceased, the facts related to them must be accurate."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Mary Trump, President Trump’s niece, revealed in an upcoming book that President Trump had his friend Shapiro take the SAT on his behalf to enter the prestigious University of Pennsylvania and rewarded him handsomely, sparking controversy.

The White House rebutted the claim as false in a statement on the 7th.
