Ulsan City to Promote Consumption by Purchasing 1.65 Billion Won Worth of Ulsan Pay

SK Innovation Ulsan Complex Joins Ulsan Pay Campaign Ulsan City Hall building.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] SK Innovation Ulsan Complex participated in the 'Ulsan Pay Consumption Promotion Campaign' on the 25th to revitalize the local economy, which has been weakened by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


According to Ulsan City, since April, SK has purchased approximately 1.65 billion KRW worth of Ulsan Pay through about 950 employees. From May, they began a full-scale campaign to promote the consumption of the purchased Ulsan Pay.


At 3 p.m. on the same day, Park Kyung-hwan, Executive Vice President of SK Innovation Ulsan Complex, and Lee Sung-hoon, Chairman of the Labor Union, among others, attended the campaign held at 'Citizen Bakery,' a bakery workshop employing disabled workers located in Taehwa-dong, Jung-gu.


The attendees tasted bread and pastries at Citizen Bakery, paid with Ulsan Pay, and planned to carry out a consumption promotion campaign directed at citizens.


Executive Vice President Park Kyung-hwan said, "Although the petroleum industry is experiencing unprecedented management difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, as a leading company in Ulsan, our employees have united their hearts to overcome difficulties together with the local community."


Ulsan Mayor Song Cheol-ho said, "I appreciate that labor and management are working together to revive the local economy during these difficult times," and added, "I hope the Ulsan Pay consumption promotion campaign will expand consumption and help small business owners."
