Support for Installation of Dust Collectors at Machinery and Metalwork Sites in Mullae-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyunil) will begin improving working conditions by supporting the installation costs of dust collectors in machinery and metal workplaces around Mullae-dong starting in March.

As part of the urban regeneration project along Gyeongin-ro aimed at creating Yeongdeungpo, a central city in the southwest region where industry and culture coexist, the district will support the installation costs of dust collectors in machinery and metal clusters in Mullae-dong.

A dust collector is a device that collects dust in the air; it is a type of air purifier that removes dust and oil mist generated during machinery and metal manufacturing.

In 2019, installation costs for dust collectors were supported for a total of 29 workplaces, thereby reducing pollution and noise, improving the quality of the working environment, and increasing productivity.

This year, the district plans to spend a total of 180 million KRW to support installation costs of up to 2.1 million KRW per workplace for about 90 workplaces. Workplaces receiving support must bear at least 10% of the total installation cost.

Eligibility requirements include: △ located within the machinery and metal cluster in Mullae-dong △ machinery and metal manufacturing △ registered as manufacturing in the main business on the small and medium enterprise certificate △ total employees including the representative are five or fewer △ no dust collection facilities installed at the workplace △ no dust collector installation subsidy received in 2019.

Workplaces wishing to apply should fill out the application form posted on the district website (www.ydp.go.kr) and submit it via email (hjh010103@ydp.go.kr) along with additional documents such as △ confirmation of no dust collector installation △ small and medium enterprise certificate △ list of insured employees under the four major insurances (for companies with 2-5 employees) △ health insurance qualification certificate (for single-person companies) △ income amount certificate, etc.

The application period is until October 8. For any questions regarding the application, please refer to the ‘Yeongdeungpo News’ notices on the district website or contact the Urban Regeneration Division at ☎2670-3526.

Yeongdeungpo District Mayor Chaehyunil stated, “As more people visit Mullae Creative Village recently, the need to improve working conditions in the surrounding machinery and metal factory area is increasing. We will transform into a city where culture and industry coexist by promoting measures for small business owners, including support for dust collector installation.”
