Jung Il-woo to make appearance on TV program in China

Korean actor Jung Il-woo is expanding his career into China by appearing on a popular TV program.

Management Soop announced in a press release on Tuesday that Jung will leave the country later today to join the shoot for an episode of Hunan TV's variety talk show "Tian Tian Xiang Shang."

"Tian Tian Xiang Shang" is considered one of the highest rated TV shows in China and has featured A-list stars such as Bill Gates, Kimura Takuya, David Beckham and Hamasaki Ayumi.

"Jung's popularity in the Greater China regions has grown since 'Cool Guys, Hot Ramen' began its air there. Hopefully, his popularity will skyrocket once again when 'The Moon Embracing the Sun' hit the airwaves," an official with Soop was quoted as saying.

Jung has been strengthening his foothold in acting, not just in Korea but in the neighboring countries, by starring in sitcom "High Kick!" (MBC, 2006-2007), "The Return of Iljimae"(MBC, 2009) and "49 Days"(SBS, 2011).

He recently signed an exclusive contract with talenthouse Management Soop, which also manages the careers of top stars Jeon Do-youn, Gong Yoo and Kong Hyo-jin.
