Korean actor Ji Sung held a fan meeting in Japan earlier this week, according to his agency Namoo Actors on Thursday.

According to a press release by Namoo, the actor met with over 3,000 of his fans at the Tokyo International Forum on Monday.

During the two-part event which proceeded under the theme of “Going on a Picnic with a Lover,” Ji Sung helped his fans adorn themselves with accessories he prepared for the occasion, ate a picnic lunch with them, and read aloud a letter he wrote for his fans as well as singing several songs.

“Meeting with my fans is always a nervous and heart-fluttering experience. I feel grateful for all the love and encouragement they give me and I believe the only way to repay them is to show them better acting,” Ji Sung was quoted as saying in the statement.

The latest fan meeting was originally scheduled for March 21 but was delayed due to the March 11 earthquake that devastated the eastern part of Japan which left over 21,000 people dead or missing and thousands homeless.

The 34-year-old actor, who has starred in several big and small screen projects in Korea, secured his name as a Hallyu star in Japan with TV series “All In” (SBS, 2003) and “New Heart” (MBC, 2007).

Having launched his official fan club in Tokyo in 2008, he has continued to make his name known in the country with his other dramas including “Swallow the Sun” (SBS, 2009) and “Kim Soo Ro” (MBC, 2010).
