Korean actor Ryu Si-won, also one of the first and most popular Hallyu stars in the country, got married on Tuesday evening through a private ceremony held at Seoul's Hyatt hotel.
The 38-year-old actor appeared in front of reporters just hours ahead of the wedding, vowing to "be a good husband and dad" to his nine-year-younger wife and his child the couple are expecting next spring.
Ryu added that he and his wife-to-be will try to serve as a good role model by having respect and mutual understanding for one another.
The nuptials, attended by about 600 guests including various celebrities, was presided by Ryu's close singer friend Kim Won-joon.
About 200 fans from Japan gathered at the entrance to the wedding hall at an attempt to see the ceremony.
News of Ryu's wedding first broke out on the day of his 38th birthday on October 6 when he posted a message thanking his fans for their birthday greetings and surprise announced his marriage and upcoming fatherhood.
Ryu made his debut in 1994 and has since starred in various dramas. He has also led a successful career in Japan in both music and dramas.
He is currently the director and racer of his own pro car racing team 'TEAM106,' and turned producer for singer Rottyful Sky.
