American rapper Flo Rida to hold first ever concert in Korea

American hip-hop artist Flo Rida will be visiting Korea in May to give his first ever concert in the country, according to concert promoter Moonstone Korea on Monday.

The rapper will be performing at Yonsei University's Main Auditorium on May 21 and 22 where a special guest star has also been set to give a performance, Moonstone Korea explained.

Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, began his rapping career during his teenage years touring the United States with popular hip-hop groups.

He was featured in numerous mix tapes and albums before releasing his first single "Low" which stayed on the No. 1 spot of the prestigious Billboard singles chart for 11 weeks.

His most recent second album "R.O.O.T.S," featuring the hit track "Right Round," stood atop Billboard's Hot 100 chart for six weeks.

The song had been at the center of heated controversy last year -- popular boy band Big Bang leader G-Dragon was accused of having plagiarized "Right Round" to create his solo hit song "Heartbreaker."

Earlier this month however, Yang Hyun-suk, CEO of G-Dragon’s agency YG Entertainment, announced an official statement saying that Flo Rida himself did a featuring for a new version of "Heartbreaker" to be included as a bonus track on G-Dragon's special album to be released later this month.
