Kim Jae-won returning to TV with 'May Queen' after recovering from injury

Korean actor Kim Jae-won is returning to the small screen again with a new project in his hands.Having been out of the spotlight for about ten months after his shoulders got injured on the set of "Flower, I Am" (MBC, 2011), Kim has decided to play the male lead in MBC's "May Queen" set to air in August, his agency Khan Enterprise announced on Friday.His new character, named Kang San, is a rich, self-centered guy who has psychic power of remembering every single thing he has witnessed.Alongside the actor, actress Han Ji-hye and actor Jae-hee have also been announced to be working on the concept of their characters in the project. Helmed by director Baek Ho-min and scriptwriter Son Young-mok, the show depicts the success stories of people in the shipbuilding industry.The officials said the forthcoming series will depict the main characters' ambition, love, revenge and betrayal in the process of achieving their dream.Kim was initially cast as the male lead in "Flower, I Am" but he had to step down from the show after getting injured from riding a malfunctioning motorcycle. Kim first appeared in the small screen with SBS’ 2001 sitcom "Honey Honey" and shot to stardom by starring in MBC's romantic drama "Romance" alongside actress Kim Ha-neul.
